When I was planning on launching this podcast, Deborah Fryer, Ph.D. was one of the first people I asked to be a guest. She’s not only a mindset coach who dives deep into creating beautiful lives with her clients, but also because she’s a brilliant and creative woman who spent much of her career behind the camera making films.
In our conversation, Deborah and I dove deep into embracing your creative mindset. Basically, if you’re alive, you’re a creative being.
And as Deborah said, “You can’t NOT create” because creativity starts with our thoughts. And we ALL think.
The problem with creating what we actually want happens when we get all up in our heads and self-sabotage our creative efforts. But self-sabotage looks different for everyone.
In this episode, we discussed:
- why we are all creative beings
- how deadlines can help us build the energy we need to create
- some strategies for slowing ourselves and becoming aware of when we’re going into self-sabotage
- Deborah’s own creative process – whether that’s making a film or writing a book
